So NOT happening!!

September 25, 2009

After the entire hullabaloo about Preity Zinta performing an item number in Main Aur Mrs Khanna, I thought it would be worth a dekko. But after watching the video I realized how wrong I was. See for yourself:

There are so many reasons why the video is so pathetic. For starters, the song itself is bad. Preity in her heydays looked pretty, no doubt about that. But face it girl, you’re old now! And definitely too old to be dancing in an item number.

Did the Director think he could recreate the magic of “Kajra re”? Evidently that was the idea…Preity’s outfit and jewellery are very reminiscent of the superhit number featuring Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. What I don’t understand is why did he try to pull it off? Couldn’t the choreographer come up with a fresh concept huh?

But did you notice the dance off between Kareena Kapoor and Preity? The former looked stunning in that sexy sari, didn’t she? Kareena should have taken Preity’s place… alas, what’s done is done!

She started with the big hit Dola Re from Devdas which brought to screen both Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit.

The Oscar nominated Lagaan‘s song O Ri Chori was choreographed by Vaibhavi. She has done her bit for movies like Lakshya, Dhoom, Rang De Basanti and Delhi 6. She won a lot of acclaim for Kajra Re which featured Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in Bunty Aur Babli.

Dance Like A Man

Hrithik Roshan hit it right with his moves beginning with his debut Kaho Naa Pyar Hai.

His reputation grew multi fold. Here we have an actor who is more than just another pretty face. He can act and dance around trees too. The directors and the lot were more than delighted as they made sure he had something to dance to in every movie that followed.

Ek Pal Ka Jeena from Kaho Naa Pyar Hai had co-star Ameesha Patel speechless.

Bumro Bumro from Mission Kashmir giving Preity Zinta a run for her money.

You Are My Soniye from Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, matching Kareena Kapoor step for step.

Idhar Chali from Koi Mil Gaya that won the choreographer Farah Khan many awards.

Mein Aisa Kyun Hoon from Lakshya was choreographed by Prabhudeva.

Crazy Kiya Re from Dhoom 2 saw him turning up the temperature with Aishwarya Rai giving Abhishek Bachchan sleepless nights.
